That partially explains it, but why in the world when you didn't call back did she not contact you again? I'd be frantic by now ...... |

It's the second time he's gone AWOL, according to what OH tells me she told him. She did say her kids were missing him though ............. |

Maybe the cat is simply that the cat and not a high priority...........hopefully she will call back. |

I spoke to my vet's surgery this afternoon. They will not neuter Squiffy without the owner's consent. They suggest I get our local rescue or PDSA involved. He is still visiting us once or twice daily. I put up a strip on the poster asking the owner to phone again. Poor cat. He's not in danger of starving (I bought some more cat food for him with my grocery order today) and he is not suffering from the weather, but that is bound to change sooner or later. So no immediate danger, but I can see no clear way forward. |

Is there a school/shop/chippie a general meeting place in the large village where this person lives where you can post a poster.....complete with picture  as the lady said her children were missing him I thought they would see it and nudge her to ring again. |

Good point from Kazz! You can't take him in whole to upset yours with aggressiveness, and can't get him fixed to eliminate that without the owner's permission .. and owner no responding .... Catch 22. Poor Squiffy; he'd be a lovely cat I'm sure once those hormones stop raging.  |

I'm going to act on your advice - taking a poster into the Co-op in the Big Village - it's the only shop. Hope they will let me display it. The community centre is being rebuilt and the primary school will soon be closing for the summer hols, so guess that's the best bet. Squiffs SO wants a loving home. |
