I can't believe that no-one reads Sherlock Holmes much any more! Used to be a firm favourite of mine, although I have to say that generally I wasn't able to follow the great man's deductions! Also thought it was topical, because a few days ago, Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle's first novel was published. He'd never intended it to be but I must admit the few snippets I've read I've found very interesting! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-15054089 Sherlock Holmes' housekeeper was Mrs Hudson. I read most of Sherlock Holmes when I was in my mid to late teens, and that's been a long, long time ago, Angie....... now that you mention it, I remember. |
