Re: I'm getting so afraid for Merlin

That's great, thanks Elaine - I've already spotted a couple of useful tips, like raising his food bowl as I've found that he tends to eat better when I am holding the bowl up for him which is a bit arm ache making! Also confirmed that garlic isn't good for cats. Funny about the boiled rice - the vet food for sensitive stomachs has rice in it, as do most other foods for "invalid" diets that I've seen.

I'll give the egg a go!

Re: I'm getting so afraid for Merlin

Most pet foods have rice and grains in them but I remember the Hills K/D prescription food also had boiled rice in it and Winston just would not touch it. Any time Eva has had an upset tummy and I have given her boild fish/shicken and rice, again she just would not touch it. Bernie, who remembers when he had no food at all but still he wont eat boiled rice.

Re: I'm getting so afraid for Merlin

The only cat I ever had that would eat rice was my Siamese, he loved it with curry; the rest of them would carefully eat around it or refuse the whole plateful......

Hiya I made Spag Bol but made a serperate pan for the cats with no onion.... Spaghetti is a good carb... I also found they like noodles too.

Agree with Elaine and the broth, I found myself adding liquid to everymeal.

Re: I'm getting so afraid for Merlin

Isn't it amazing what can reduce your stress levels and make your day????

Yesterday, Merlin decided he WOULD eat Felix in jelly - what a relief, no having to think and cook fish/chicken ahead so he could have his breakfast as soon as we get up in the morning!

And today HE DID A POO!!!! (Well, three actually)

I am a happy cat slave today.

Angie that's lovely! These things that may seem trivial to those outside are SO important aren't they?

We're all with you on this journey - hugs to the ever-special Merlin

Re: I'm getting so afraid for Merlin

Who else but my Catsey friends and Merlin's kind fans would be so thrilled by the news????

OH thinks Merlin would be embarrassed to hear that his "functions" have been posted on t'internet - so I don't think I'll tell him. I'll just say his kind friends sent their love!
