I am wishing you all the best Sophia, perhaps by bringing this to light to other people the mum and wee girl kitten will not have died in vain and will save some other lives because of their deaths, I know it's hard now but please stop blaming yourself, we would all do things differently if we could turn back time but we can't so the only thing we can do is try and make some good of what has happened and you can do that. I can see that you have faith in God, so pray and ask him to show you the way to make good of this situation and he will.

OK..... Now I am not a fan of the RSPCA, in my opinion, they have grown too big and make too many decisions on a generalised, national level and not on individual cases.... however they do have the welfare of animals in mind... however misguided they may become.... you had the best interests of the animals at heart and cannot blame yourself for the actions of others....

BUT if you choose to support smaller, local groups make sure they do have policies in place you agree with... The RSPCA policy of never re-homing cats classed as feral is out of date.... out of my 8 in the Fab Feline Tribe 5 would have been classed as 'feral' by the RSPCA however RigbyBigBear (who caused 12 stitches in a ladys leg ) now sleeps next to my head on the pillow...purring constantly ... just like humans each animal should be judged on their own merits!!

Their reasons are purely sour grapes as you are now causing waves for them (and quite rightly so!) I have had kittens from them in the past and the kennel maids at our branch were really caring ladies but I guess they don t make the policies. Its all such a sad situation but you have us all supporting you. Keep the thread updated! Jan x

Just to update all of you, I am still demanding answers from the local branch as to what happened that day.

Have been busy with writing here and there about the incident. I will keep you posted. Looks like they are trying to save their own necks.

Hi Sophia when it comes to RSPCA you will have a hard time getting any answers from them they just don,t communicate end of
Having tried hard myself to get justice for my rabbits that they killed i know that they will just ignore any questions that you fire at them they are a law unto themselves i,m afraid
The word is getting around though that they are not to be trusted quite right too
If many other rescues can operate NO KILL policies then why can,t they they are over funded by generous donations from poor Joe public who still believe that they care about animal welfare don,t make me laugh
Do keep us undated on the poor litle boy kitten If they won,t let you have him could you not get a friend to offer him a home on your behalf them take him yourself

There's two rescues in our local rescue who were rescued by the rspca and they were going to have them pts without trying to rehome them, don't understand why. They are both really friendly!

Well i don,t know if this is the reason but apparently the RSPCA NO LONGER COLLECT STRAYS
I got this news directly from an inspector so it is true
They are "saving their resources" for dealing with cruelty cases (and no doubt hoping for more donations )from what i was told they think it is better to leave a stray cat to fend for itself rather than collect it for rehoming they will sometimes take a heavily pregnant or abused cat but not just a stray
So thats O.K. then
Perhaps stray cats are better off not going to RSPCA as they seem to PTS most of them anyway

Our longest cat in our branch would be classified as feral too and definitely pts. She is now at a fosterers (but waiting for a special home) but when she was in our shelter all she would do is hiss spit and hide in her bed all day. Eventually thanks to an alternative therapist who has done Reiki on her (and aromatherapy) she is now brushable and strokeable. She is also very playful! But if the RSPCA would have gone "feral FIV PTS" when in reality she is semi feral. The person who did the Reiki thinks she will never be a lap cat and she does need a lot of work from her owner with her but will make a special pet. I would love to take her but I do not have the funds.

Hi Guys, its sophia.
Have had alot happen to me over the last month or so . I have been to many solicitors abt the mother cat and her kitten they (rspca) put to sleep. Nobody wants to touch this, not even the press.
I never got the boy kitten back and at times its too painful for me to think about them all, so i have been busy telling others what to do if they shlould find stray cats and or kittens.
ive missed being on here...
Hpe you are all ok. im going to try to be back on here, discusssing things.
