Not sure what's happened to Shelley, but you are both right. It is acid neutral (pH 7 or slightly higher). It is also sulphur and lignin free. Q9 Is balsa classified as a hard or soft wood? |

Clever people!!! Hardwood, strangely. Trees are classified as hardwood because of the shape of their leaves, so balsa, with its large, broad leaves is classified as hardwood despite being very soft.
