Very worried about Teddy

Oh Alex, I'm so sorry you and Teddie are going through this again You must be at your wits end trying to think what you can do for the best for her.

You said chicken seemed to upset her tummy last time.......have you tried boiled/steamed white fish? It doesn't have to be expensive cod, I used to give Cassie coley when she had an upset tum and that was easily digested....

I really hope you find a way to get her back on track again .......... we are all with you Alex (((((big hugs))))) to you and Teddie..... xx

I've not got any paste left Fran, but I do have a powder probiotic I got 2 days ago from them. I assume this does the same thing as the promax paste. It's the starving bit I don't want to do again, 'cause it seems as if that's all I've dont to the poor wee thing. I guess I don't have much option though as I have to do something to help her.

The probiotic powder isn't as good as the paste as the paste has a binding agent and other helpful things in it too.


Out of interest....other than cats, do you keep any other pets?

I have a rabbit, Minstral, but he's kept in a hutch outside and never comes indoors. Teddie has never come into contact with him, and my rat Tinkerbell, died of old age just as we got Teddie.

Oh, and my vet was reluctant to give me promax paste again as he said that it isn't a good idea to keep her on it as that just hides an underlying cause. Personally I thought giving it to her when she's trying to change foods would be the best idea. Could I go into another vets and pick up a tube of it?

I just had a moment of trying to think of a cause and wondered if you had any reptiles - tortoise, iguana, lizard etc....as they can carry salmonella

My vet is the opposite and says I can call in anytime for a tube if I need it without having to consult her Have you considered taking Teddie to a different vet for a second opinion Alex?
