I thought it was something that stuck with you forever but I suppose my SIL and his family say Father Christmas so my daughter has followed suit  |

bit of both here. i think my mum used to say father christmas to me and my brother and sister, when we were little, but when i lived with my gran, she used to write 'from santa' on the lables on my christmas presents. |

It was always Father Christmas when I was little, then Santa became popular through TV and movies and I guess it got more usage. But Father Christmas will always be my endearing memory of my childood. The costume has changed too. FC wore a long red, furlined robe and a sort of floppy hood and had a long Dumbledore type beard, whilst SC wears a red suit and has a shorter bushier beard, I think. I think STILL believe  in my heart of hearts ! |
