Re: Thursday daily

OH had train/parking probs, so didn't go off after all. He was always lukewarm about the thing he was due at, so no great miss. That means the car was here and I was able to get to the allotment - thank goodness, the warm and wet is making everything, including the weeds, grow like crazy. Did a couple of hours tidying and came back with raspberries, boysenberries, spuds, courgettes (round green and long yellow) and bulb fennel. The latter will go nicely with trout for supper tonight. DM - what happened with your potatoes?
Sympathies to all afflicted with GSS (Grumpy Spouse Syndrome) - why do they do that? What do they think is likely to improve about a situation they don't like if they are grumpy with their nearest and dearest? Pah! Be tough on your sons, mothers, - no sympathy when things aren't going their way, just a Joyce Grenfall 'get on with it' response.
No further sign of the (non-resident) ginger peril. Dinah will be delighted if she gets permission to chase - I normally tell her off for even looking at cats

Re: Thursday daily

Nice warm morning here, 29C, a bit hazy; t'storms in the forecast for the next few days. We need it, only .13" rain all month. No errands, so a lie-in and did a small wash and whacked away at the vines overrunning the fence...almost filled a bin with them. New bird feeder came (will post pic later) and the replacement tea kettle is due today.

DM, the potatoes weren't very successful (sorry I forgot to post about them!) I think starting them indoors and keeping them inside too long stunted them ...they were extremely leggy and only produced 5 small potatoes about the size of cherries. Tasty though ...maybe I dug them too soon? ...but now I know what to do next year.

Sorry about grumpy spouses; there are joys about being single! Angie, I'll definitely raise a glass to your MIL this afternoon....88 is a great age! Glad Kizzy's feeling better. So is Leia. Hope your friend recovers well, Kazz. Also hope Dinah sorts out the invasive ginger boy. Poor Posh, finally foiled! . Yola, you do need some R & R, may it go well without too many arguments. Italy, isn't it?

Getting darker in the evening earlier, enjoy it while we can ......

Re: Thursday daily

I am happy to report that GSS has passed over, rather like the thunder and lightning we had here a short while ago! OH is back to normal, but, of course, says it was all my fault!

Re: Thursday daily

Good news! Idea, possibly for next birthday/anniversary: golf lesson with a pro to improve that swing??
