The other thing I forgot to say, is that we have no idea how old Onyx was. We adopted her just after Christmas from the rehoming section at PAH. I don't think she was a particularly young rabbit, but did expect more time with her than we had

I am sorry for the loss of Onyx.

Some vets say VHD is not in their area, but it is only because vets do not see bunnies with VHD as they are dead before anyone knows anything about it.

Thanks all. Spoke to my vet today. The advice given was that it was unless an autopsy was done, there was no way of knowing if it was VHD or not, and as she is already buried, that wont be happening. He said I could bring my other 2 on for vaccs if I really wanted but in his opinion if it was VHD (and he did say he thought it unlikely), then it would already be in their systems. So basically all I can do is wait

Been out today and scrubbed both their cages and runs, fresh bedding and suchlike. Poor wee Custard doesn't know what to do with herself, missing her mum.

But doesnt your vet advise vaccinating rabbits anyway? I am confused that a vet does not see the need for vaccinating against VHD. Do you vaccinate against Myxi?

I agree that if the VHD is in their system it will be too late for them now, but it it is not VHD (as your vet thinks unlikely) I am concerned that they are not being vaccinated?
