Re: Cat being sick?

Thanks for the replies.

I left work early today and Alfie was quiet when I got home. He ate his white fish though.

We will be leaving to go to the vets at 4:15ish .... I am taking him along with my poorly rabbit and a friends rabbit!

How did you go on at the vets, have they come up with anything?

Re: Cat being sick?

Alfie has been taken off his antibiotics and is just on the liquid that lines his stomach before food. He is still on fish and potato too.

The vet wants to gradually ween him off the medication and see how he goes. Then she wants to change his diet for a different type of protein.

The vet is ringing me on Friday to see how Alfie's redness around his eyes and lips are. She thinks he has an allergy to something but we now need to work out what is causing it!

Re: Cat being sick?

Just a little update...

The redness above Alfie's eyes got worse and ended up bleeding where he started scratching it.

We went back to the vets and he had an injection and was given Prednisolone tablets. He is now on a sensitivity diet (the same as my other cats) and not having any other medication.

He had a runny looking poop yesterday but it wasn't as bad as it has been. The scabs on his face are looking better too.

Re: Cat being sick?

So, do you think Alfie is slowly improving? I do hope so, poor boy.

Re: Cat being sick?

I think he is improving although his poops are not as solid as they usually are.

He is behaving normally, the redness is going and he is not being sick....so this is all good.

Re: Cat being sick?

Fingers crossed then Tanya - hope his motions firm up as his new diet takes over.
