Re: Mystery Plants

OK folks - here are parts one and two of the name that plant competition.

The pot of bulbs turned out to be daffs - but really nice ones.

Anyone guess the variety?

The border plant has started to pop up too. Any ideas on this?

The clematis has a way to go but I'll be holding a guess the variety comp once it flowers.

Re: Mystery Plants

I'm stumped on the daffodil variety; will have a look-see thru some catalogues. And completely stumped on the mystery plant...don't have a clue what it is!

Re: Mystery Plants

Your daffodil looks to me like Narcissus "Tamar Fire" CM. I am still investigating the other mystery plant!

Or it could be "Tahiti"!

Re: Mystery Plants

I'm not sure here's "Tamar Fire"!

I'm sure the problem is due to Firefox! Here's the link http://www.trecanna.com/showdetails.asp?id=665

Re: Mystery Plants

I can't decide. In some pics it looks like one in others I'm not so sure. Maybe try and get a photo tomorrow more full on as the ones I have are slightly drooping.

Thanks for narrowing it down to only two though!

It is defininately a yellow DM, but I love that variety you've found. May look out for it this autumn.

This has decided me - tomorrow I'm going to photo all the daffs still in flower and try to identify them! We have loads of varieties and colours so should be good fun.

Re: Mystery Plants

I have a suspicion the other mystery plant is a little euonymus - but it's a huge genus and I can't narrow it down yet.
