Heeheehee! loved that! Seriously though, around here all the lamp-posts have warnings put up by the council quoting the fine that will follow. The paths have been clear for ages now, so it seems to have worked. |

Dog poo everywhere here, too We live in a neighbourhood that, until fairly recently, was considered a place you never went near after dark, etc. People just don't care. They will also throw rubbish into whichever front yard they're walking past, which drives me insane (the front yards are small and piddly, but damn it... My house is not a bin). It strikes me as a massive sign of disrespect for other people. |

Could you imagine the size of the bag needed, though. |

We used to have the same problem but only because the council sold the local field for housing. Anyway they put up signs saying it was an ofence not to clean up after your dog. Plus they have enforced it with "enviromental wardens" who issue tickets like parking fines. I have seen it done twice and both times I thought YEH. |

It might be worth speaking to the dog warden Smudgley - being near the school and all (Yuk) - as Jac says, a couple of prosecutions and your problem should go. |

I think that this is the main problem, that you rearely hear of people being caught and fined for this. I may contact my council today, ask them if it is a bylaw, and if so why there are no posters/stickers anywhere. It's a problem all over the country. I know in days gone by you werent expected to really pick up after your dog, i'm talking years ago(not that it meant you shouldnt) . but these days we are more informed and it is only responsible for the ept owners to clear up after thier pets. Hope you sort it out smudgley. |

We dog owners get really ratty about this - as we are all under suspicion! I notice a lot of walkers actually twist a poly bag or two onto their lead - as if to say 'it's not my dog; I pick up'. |

Yes, it's easy for all to get tarred with the same brush... : / The bag-on-the-lead thing is a good idea, even though it shouldn't be necessary to prove your innocence. |
