Kazz,my acer has three horizontal branches coming out from it, all about 3 feet long and almost touching the ground......will it thicken up more, do you think?

Eric has decided to do the same he's decided to branch out, sadly towards the fence, can't do anything about it now he's rooted in really really well. In such a short space of time too (I know I was going to turn him round today) but he is in to well to mess with) a least he's coming out the other way too.
