Some female foxes will tackle a cat when they have cubs to feed but as a rule they will usually leave cats alone..

You don't think he has had a run in with a rat do you? other than that maybe a wandering Tom cat.

Glad he's on the mend I think we have to realise if we let them out - which they adore, then we have no idea of their life style.

Yeah Moli, call in David Attenborough or Bill Oddie. And get them to wire him up soyou can check out his behaviour away from you, call it Walk on the Wildside, it could have been a rat your description of the injury nose, and ear with tufts of fur reminded me of Oscars encounters with rate when he was younger as he got better he despatched them without incident. but it takes a brave or in Oz's case a dozy cat to tackle a rat,
