Samson is gone and I feel so lost without him already, he was such a special cat.
His blood tests were very bad. The vet thinks the problems with eating were due to ulcers under his tongue, caused by the urea in his system. We didn't end up x-raying him because regardless of what was wrong we couldn't treat him anyway- we couldn't put him onto IVFT if he had fluid in his lungs because that would make it worse, we couldn't give him diuretics because that would make his kidneys worse and if it was a tumour......well.
When she came to PTS she felt him again and she could feel a very large lump under his ribs- she's not sure if it was linked to his kidneys or liver but it was big.
She was surprised he was still alive, never mind looked so well and relatively bright. He purred the whole time until he was given the sedative ( its quite stingy) but it was peaceful.
Although I am completely heartbroken, I am glad he went before he started to suffer and still managed to enjoy a cuddle.
I feel exhausted- we've lost 4 cats this year already.
I miss them.
