Aww, so sorry to hear this. I agree that there is no such thing as 'only a hamster'. My daughter has 2 syrians, and I know I would be so upset if anything happened to either of them. Sleep tight little Rolo.

So sorry Rolo lost the fight xxx

My experience of hamsters is that they rarely recover well from such things. No such thing as "only a hamster", they are all creatures who deserve a chance if there is one.

Re: Very poorly little hamster

Thank you so much everyone. I wanted to reply yesterday but everytime I tried my eyes just kept filling with tears

We looked at her yesterday and she had a very severe case of bloat. For whatever reason she suffered a blockage and her intestines filled with food and gas, my poor little girl must have been in pain

I miss her so much, I haven't been able to empty her cage out yet, but at the same time I can't bear to look at it and see it empty of her

RIP my little angel, have fun with the rest xxx

Re: Very poorly little hamster

Poor little Rolo - you must be a very strong person to be able to autopsy your little friend. But I do understand that you had to know the reason.

Sleep sweetly little hamster.

Re: Very poorly little hamster

Poor Rolo. I too think you are brave to autopsy your own pet, but totally understand your need to know. What do you think would cause bloat in a hamster?
