Thanks everyone - I'll let you know how the saga continues! I have to agree with Jo as I too think the Squiffy is a young chap, not a lot older than Pip probably. |

I spoke with my next door neighbour yesterday - the one who was on the warpath about Squiffy earlier. She has good reason to be upset though. Her cat Joe seems to have given up. He is 16, not 12 or 13 as I thought. She came round to borrow my cat carrier to take him to the vet this morning as he is not eating nor drinking. She thinks it might be stress caused by being bullied by Squiffy. I saw a tick on Squiffy yesterday too and confirmed with neighbour that he does not belong to the farm nor the stables. It could be that he is a genuine stray. I am going to see if I can get some Stronghold on him next time he comes calling. I did my two yesterday, they were overdue for treatment but the sight of that tick spurred me into action. |

My neighbour has just been round bringing back the cat carrier. It wasn't used as Joe passed away in the night, comfy in the dog basket in the kitchen. He has been buried at the bottom of the field where he loved to rabbit and has had a tree planted over his grave. RIP Joe - go and play with Merlin and Smudge. |
