Dragon plants are cacti. The 'gooey' stuff does protect and nourishes the seed to a certain extent when they are planted, just leave it on, it keeps the seed moist and along with under-heat aids germination. But cacti can be hard to germinate anyway so it probably wasn't this that was the problem, they do best in a sand, compost, and perlite mix, and can be prone to damping off in the early stages, but once you've got over that hurdle they're away! |
