Re: Gloomy friday

Sorry about your arthritis Eileen - did your new medication not help? I have recently tried Glucosamine gel and found that very good - I get soreness in my left wrist which I broke twice as a young person. Not sure I have arthritis, but it's a good guess probably.

Yes, I do use an inhaler and have done for quite a long time. It does help - I am always worse first thing in the morning though - "morning dippers" - and my breathing has got easier as the day progresses. Low atmospheric pressure seems to be the trigger for me.

Re: Gloomy friday

Well, it's hard to tell; I thought it was helping, but then had 2 flare-ups. But who knows, they might have been worse without the new medication. Got a tip from DM on OFF that rose hips help, so will order some of that.

I didn't know that glucosamine came in gel form; I've always taken the tablets; must check that out. I do use one of the rubs ...very smelly, Leia hates it! .... but not sure if it really helps. May be the placebo effect.

Is it asthma or emphysema that you have? My Mom had the latter; nasty thing. I suspect I will probably get it too.....

Re: Gloomy friday

I've had asthma since I was 5 months old and COPD was diagnosed in 2002 - it's the emphysematous type. Of course, I used to smoke.

I'd heard about rose hip too - when I read your comment above I remembered that my neighbour swears by it. I get the glucosamine gel online. Doesn't smell!

Re: Gloomy friday

Evening all

Today has NOT been my day

Dylan's been in a world war 3 style fight I suspect and he's got a claw stuck in his head (see other thread), had a last minute panic because it's a relative's birthday coming up and I lost the card in searching for the evasive card (ended up having to use a different card) managed to burn the dinner and I've had a painful leg all day

Oh dear, what a dreadful day for you! Hope the leg will improve, the dinner was at least partially edible and that Dylan will be OK!. (((hugs)))
