Eileen are you going to raise the beds up slightly...or have an area for apines....?????will you be painting the fences....or puting trellis up.....oh to be so far away.....see me and Emma could have that fece painted for you toot sweet.... if we were closer.... |

No.not doing the raised beds thing, nor alpines. Love the weathered look of a cedar fence so it's staying au naturel, so to speak! And yes will be getting some trellises. But appreciate the sort of offer: you could come help dig big planting holes for the roses ....Actually I think I'll enlist Carlos the handyman to help with that! |

What a fab fuchsia, Kazz! I've bookmarked that too. Did you post pics, Dandysmom? If so, I don't seem to be able to see them. Sad about that. I planted bamboo too! THREE of them - I call them "the Muriels", they have been quite well behaved, clumping sort luckily. They can (as you described) be a real nuisance, but they do have their good points, like making a good screen or hiding an unsightly bin etc. You might (and I might) like to think about that really nice scented evergreen clematis - haven't got details to hand at the mo, but will look it up. What an exciting year it's going to be! |
