Re: giving up posting

I, like those above, have also felt on occasion that I must be too boring or not have enough of interest going on. Then I post something and it takes off. I think because there are so many interests that can work for and against the people who post/reply. Also sometimes I don't respond because I'd only be repeating what has already been said.

Don't give up for that reason alone, pop in and see us, I'd be sorry to see you give up for the reasons you've mentioned.

Re: giving up posting

It's happened to me on a couple of occasions, don't let that put you off coming on here though please!

I don't always have time to go through everyone's posts so some people's posts I may not have replied to for the simple reason that I don't always get time to read them!

Please keep coming on here though!

Re: giving up posting

Yes, we are small but hopefully we're not cliquey and we do welcome newcomers with open arms!

That said, most of us are really busy and (certainly for me) being on Catsey is a bit of a luxury and also respite from the daily grind in between emails and work.

May I suggest that those who would like to get more involved post in places like picture competitions, quizzes and also the daily thread - that we we can get to know you better (and vice versa), and so the small community will grow.

Julie; Elaine - please keep posting m'dears, I for one don't have time to always answer but I DO take the time to read. However well meaning I might be and whatever my intentions are to return and post and answer it doesn't always work out, but I DO enjoy reading everything - honest!

Re: giving up posting

I agree with RCR and Yola's posts above. I probably have more time than most, but find myself "dipping in" for a few spare moments through the day. I do find that posts do disappear quite quickly sometimes and, if I remember a particular thread I do go looking for it.

Oh yes - and I too really enjoy reading (almost) everything but have to admit to totally avoiding the "disturbing cruelty" thread and am so glad that is kept separate.

Amen to that! I too, being retired, have more time than many to spend on here, and I do try to respond to most posts.

Re: giving up posting

I browse on here, but simply so not have the time to read or respond to many posts. I confess that I also think this forum has lost *some* of its sparkle and I do tend to spend more time on my greyhound forums too.

Re: giving up posting

Difficult, isn't it?
There aren't many here but those who are are exceedingly nice people. Bigger messageboards usually seem to have a few 'nasties'
I read all but don't respond to all. I'm a rotten slow typist and that tends to discourage me from long posts and from the 'How Lovely' type of response to day to day chat posts which don't need a long and well argued answer - just an acknowledgement that they have been seen. So, what to do? I could put the minimum 10 characters on every post just for the sake of some response - if the concensus is that we should do that, then I will.
- oh, and we all wonder if we're invisible sometimes, on all messageboards. It happens

Re: giving up posting

I find this a very friendly forum, OK its not busy, but it is a small forum. I don't tend to answer posts because either somebody who knows more answers has been on or somebody has just written what I've thought, so I don't see the point of writing it again.
I'm on a rabbit forum, but some people just write things for the sake of it, so there is lots of stuff to wade through to find stuff relevant to you. I am on this forum less than the rabbit one, but that is mainly because there are more posts to read through to begin with, this is a far more friendly one though and there are lots of lovely people. On most forums threads will sink without a trace, its just the way things are, I actually think you are more likely to get a response on here compared to some others.
