I'll let her tell you.

But the application is being processed. It takes a while though.

Re: Thinking of getting a dog from the guide dogs

Sounds like a wonderful thing to do. My OH would love a dog - we live much too far away from the centre to be able to get a bitch from there sadly. My ideal would be two young cats and a dog who have been used to living together, who are happy to be in each others company. I just love pictures of cats and dogs being happy together.

Re: Thinking of getting a dog from the guide dogs

HI the form has been filed in and was sent off yesterday. I can't wait to hear back from them. The lady I spoke to said tht it could take 2/3 weeks.
I am still very keen and can't wait. I keep seeing people with there dogs and imagining it was me. Or picturing where the dog can sleep. I am also plaaning on what treats to get her and so on. I am saying dog as it seems rude to say b*tch as daft as it sounds.
The lady who rang me said that the dog would come to live with me at 14 months and they pick a few of the best dogs in the training program and they breed from them. The dog has her first litter at 2 yrs old and they are born in my house and stay with me for the first 6 weeks. She (sound better than calling her dog!) has a maximum of 5 litters one every year. Then she is retired and I get the chance to adopt her. But whilst she is breeding the guide dogs will pay for the her. although once she is retired I will pay for everything and I get to keep her and spoil her. She ca also go to my vets which is great.
