Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

I'm sure a funeral in such circumstances will be very harrowing. However, tears are cathartic, and it will be the first major step towards a (probably quite long) return to 'normality. It is an important milestone, to be followed by the first (insert birthday/anniversary/xmas/holiday/whatever) without mum. I think it takes well over a year to really start to heal inside properly, although hopefully she will start to improve much sooner than that in terms of getting back to normal life.

You are very welcome to any support you can find on this forum. It is a very human, very caring place. Although we may be miles apart physically, and although most of us never meet there is a strong sense of togetherness.

I have noticed the sense of togetherness DM and I find it totally amazing and comforting that even though we don't know each other everyone is there for everyone else...

Wendy, you've had some wise advice, I can't add anything further except to take care of yourself, and do feel free to talk all you want here; we do care. Twenty is pretty young to lose a mother ...I was 25 when it happened to me; she will adjust to the loss, but it's hard indeed. She's lucky you're there to help her...(((hugs)))

Wendy you are doing the most important thing you can for her right now. Being there when she needs you most! A friend means so much at a time like this! ((hugs)) to you, 'cause you could probably do with some!
