No we don't use rails.

Any reason why not? Do you have any problems with mums' laying on the pups?

no reason, just don't feel we need to. Never have any squashed. If we did I guess we would use them. But I can honestly say out of 1200 pups per year, we never have any squashed.

I had a bad experience of a pup squashed under mum

I wouldn't consider not having rails now...
