Hopefully they will work out the pecking order! Cats need to scratch; it's the way they take care of their claws by keeping them sharp and getting rid of the old claw sheath. I presume Benny, as he goes out, has been using a tree or something similar; that's why he hasn't used your furniture. But as long as Casper is in the house he'll need something to claw, and you don't want him to get used to using the table! |

I bought him a scratchpost today. The little beggar had a good look at it while he scratched the table!!!!! Benny uses the fenceposts in the back, but hes never done anything naughty. |

lol i had a kitten before who didn't get the concept of the scratching post till i gently brought him over and put each paw onto it and then he put two and two together and the claws were latched in and he went to town on it ever since |

Looks as tho Benny is going to be leaving. He hates the kitten and is spending more time across the road at the neighbours house. He only comes in at night when he knows the kitten wont be there, has a feed and is off again! Dont know whether to wait and see if he wil give in or not. |

I'm sorry to hear that Do you think if you seperate their living quarters a bit (Benny only in one half of the house, the kitten in the other...so they don't have to interact) till he can get used to the idea, he'll stay home more?.. |
