Re: Onyx

Thanks, all. All the little stories: first time she purred to me , the time she took ham from my fingers, the first rusty meow (later she never shut up, told me all about her day, bless her!), the tummy rub allowed finally. the way she'd come tearing down the street when she was late for her tea .... lovely memories. Time does pass fast as we get older. She gave me a lot of joy, and I know you all liked that little special girl too.

Re: Onyx

It's so sad that you don't (as yet!) know where she went or who she chose as her new human friend. Let's hope she's warm and content wherever she is. (it's hard to believe it's been 2 years already)

Re: Onyx

I haven't known you for very long Eileen, but I do know that you will have cared and still care deeply for your beautiful Onyx and agree that the lack of closure makes it harder to accept her absence. One thing I have learned from this forum is that the love that we feel for our feline companions both living and lost, rubs off on all of us and we can all feel and understand each others' pain.

Re: Onyx

Thank you, James. One thing I love about this forum is that people understand and care about the bond we develop with our cats. And the sorrow and pain when they die or vanish. I'm sure we've all met someone who expressed surprise at our grieving and said "Well, it was just a cat" ....!!!!!
