Re: Nasty wasps

Not sure what to advise, I suspect wasp nests are quite difficult to eradicate? Might have to bring in pest control professionals??

Good luck and do let us know how you get on

Re: Nasty wasps

I would call in the professionals to do it - I think they actually need to remove the nest don't they?

The enviromental health deal with them. I would get intouch with pest controll or someone.

Re: Nasty wasps

The stuff that OH used to destroy a nest some years ago had to be used at dusk, when all the wasps were back in the nest. It was a powder that had to be puffed through the entry holes to the nest area. The holes were then blocked up to stop the wasps escaping. When he felt daring enough a couple of days later he got the nest, complete with loads of dead beasties, out from the roofspace.

You can also contact your local council to deal with the nest, but I don't expect the service to be free.

Re: Nasty wasps

Neighbours are pensioners. The council want to charge £200 so they did it last night at dusk for that same reason MrsH.
They have sprayed again and blocked the hole up now so dead ones will stay in and others will find another nest.

Re: Nasty wasps

If they're just spraying ordinary fly/wasp killer spray, it won't work. Our neighbours tried to do it that way and just succeeded in making them madder!

They did eventually get a professional in, and it was the white powder stuff that worked.
