We had some of the loudest thunder I've ever heard and incredibly bright lightning....quite spectacular, impressive rain too!

Our storm was centered south of Reading . . . I thought Basingstoke would have borne the brunt . . . so if you're in North Hampshire MrsH, I suspect that you were in the centre of what we caught the fringes of. Yikes

We got it here too yesterday evening. Quite a dramatic storm which probably lasted about 30 minutes or so

Well, that was the night from hell!! the thunder and lightening didn't stop completely until about 10pm!!! But the rain, OMG! I looked out Hayleys bedroom window and couldn't see the kerbs on the pavement, they were under water. Looked out the back and there was a river flowing down my grass! Never seen anything like it here. I didn't dare come back on the pc last night while that was all happening so i ended up going to bed! very horrible night.
