Angie, do you mean the natural sunset and sunrise times? From the BBC I got these, Sunrise 07:20 Sunset 18:13. Looking at those times made me realise just how little light we're getting now! 6.15, jeezo! I think my boys have begun to realise we simply won't get up until the alarm goes off, so it's partly learning, but I've noticed they're generally sleeping more now that it's a bit darker (despite cats being nocturnal!) |

I've opened up a whole can o'worms for myself here! "Lighting up times" used to be published in local newspapers etc. but it seems that apart from The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 (see below) they are no longer a legal requirement. I am trying to find out how to get an accurate location of my nearest town so that I can get sunset and sunrise from a US Astrological site!!!! So hang on - I'm still trying to find out what it is on the South Coast!!! "Lighting-up time The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations, 1989, make the use of front and rear position lamps compulsory on vehicles during the period between sunset and sunrise. Headlamps are required on vehicles during the hours of darkness which are defined by these regulations as being the interval between one half-hour after sunset to one half-hour before sunrise. Lights are also required at other times when visibility is restricted. Sunrise and sunset are defined by these regulations as local sunrise and sunset." |

Different continent, different latitude, but here sunrise today is 7:13 am, sunset at 6:32 pm. We're still on Daylight Saving Time, so will just get worse..... |
