Right sitting in the kitchen watching the TV programme "Who killed Maxine" about the family of Maxine Hamilton who was killed in the Birmingham bombings. They are trying to get justice. I remember all of this it was 1974 and although I was 9 my best friends two elder sisters were out in Town. They were not injured however they had friends who were. And yet my friends Mom is Irish and she hardly spoke outside the house once this happened so was the feeling toward the Irish in Birmingham at the time. You have to remember no one had mobiles then so we had to wait for them to come home. They usually went to both the pubs that were bombed however that night one of their friends had a diabetic attack and they took her home. |
