Re: a bit worried about Samson.

Samson is worse again today and hasn't eaten much. He is sneezing so much, his nose was bleeding, so he will be back in tomorrow and I think I will ask for more tests, even if they don't mention them. His eye is more runny today as well, so I'm very concerned as he has been on 2 types of antiobiotic and it hasn't shifted it. He is quite a cheeky boy but today he looks miserable.

Re: a bit worried about Samson.

I've had Samson back to the vet and he thinks he is a bit better. There is less wheeziness in his throat and his temp is down. Thankfully his weight hasn't changed, so I guess he has been picking at food when I haven't been looking. Mind you he tucked into fish again this morning. Scott thinks its bacterial so we are continuing with the antibiotics, he doesn't want to do any tests yet because he thinks he is improving and he doesn't really want to risk it as Sammy is quite poorly.
There may also be the complication of having his thyroixine levels reduced a week or so before this developed and that can affect the immune system. Thankfully nobody else seems to be showing any symptoms, which is a relief when we have an FIV cat and a 20 year old cat in the house.

Re: a bit worried about Samson.

I had Samson back into the vet today, and he is much improved. He still has very weepy eyes and now has lots of little ulcers all over them. The vet said it was quite strange, and doesn't think it is linked to his 'cold'. He is now in tiacil drops 3 times a day, I can't imagine what has cause this as he has never had problems before and the ulceration is weird it looks like bacteria growing on a petri dish. At least he is eating now and seems more comfortable, he is back next Friday to be checked again.

Glad about the general improvement, but that is strange about the eyes. Does it seem to be interfering with his vision?

Poor Samson, his eyes must feel very sore with those ulcers

Hope they improve soon...
