Re: Daily thread ~ Tuesday

Back from visiting my Mum with the little ones. Lovely lunch but marred by her constant criticism of and undermining of, my parenting style.

Her solution is to throw sweets at a tantrum and give in. Mine's somewhat different. So I ended up leaving early as I really don't like the inference that I'm an uncaring mother simply because I refuse to pander to a toddler's strop.

Good for you Yola! It's never easy to stand up to your mum (believe me, I know) but you've done the right thing. They are your kids and you're raising them to your standards, not hers.

Re: Daily thread ~ Tuesday

Well after this morning's dull start it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon I managed to clear all my plants and get the ground dug over...
Have got an achy back now....but well worth having a tidy garden again!

Re: Daily thread ~ Tuesday

Evening all, had a fun trip around Tesco's this afternoon, made the mistake of taking my son with me, which mean't my shopping cost at least £20 more than usual....
Been belting down with rain here all day!

To cap it my boiler has just died. So no hot water (thankfully it's not cold enough to run the heating yet). Doesn't look like the usual furring up of system either . . . the thing won't even run. Great - if that's a new boiler we're looking into the £000s

LOL, Yola, know that feeling, my 25 yr old brother still lives at home, pays £60 'rent' a month and my mum does his cooking, cleaning and washing, yet I started work at 16 (16 yrs ago) an dpaid £60 rent amonth then and I left home at 19. Mothers and their baby boys!

Re: Daily thread ~ Tuesday

Evening, all! Quiet day here, just marketing and bringing in more plants from the porch and patio...is 49 degrees now with a blustery wind...not my weather! No freeze yet in the City, supposed to be down to 39 degrees tonight, but feel better with everything indoors now. Heat has been on for days; Leia is glued to the radiator cover in the living room, toasting herself! (Not literally glued...I could see the wisecracks coming )
