Such a shame as the cat at the rescue was perfect. |

Is it the "wild" look you like, Ian? I don't know if Egyptian Maus or Ocicats are common i the UK, but they have lovely spotted coats ...... |

Yes we definitely like the wild look but also tabbys being beautifully stripy is equally aesthetically appealing. However, the thing about bengals is their other characteristics such as their intelligence, voices, love of water, climbing stuff like that. I have looked at the Egyptian maus but they seem very rare in the Uk. Havent really done any research on the Ocicat. I think we will continue to look for Bengals or tabbys (british shorthair tabby?) so if anyone in the rescue "business" spots any we;d love to hear about it. ~Thanks for the help again everyone |

I'm slightly biased, as I was owned by a wonderful Abysinnian...they are extremely intelligent cats. good climbers, although not particularly vocal. And tolerate water,,,Sultan would walk on his harness in a light rain! But drew the line at playing in it. They have a slightly wild look, like mini-cougars. You might want to consider Bengal crosses....Meep has two gorgeous boys that we suspect are part Bengal, stunning stripey coats, and talk about active and intelligent! Sorry, I'm rambling a bit ..... |

I have researched Abys and also looked into Ocicats too. I like the look of the Abys but I do love patterns / markings so perhaps not top of the list but to be honest we arent ruling anything out really, and doesnt *have* to be pedigree / pure breed. Still think Bengals and BSH Tabbys are my top choices. Or I guess a cross of the above if that exists? I am still learning more and more about all the different cat breeds. If anyone sees any please PM me South Manchester area but willing to travel anywhere really |
