What a dreadful shock for all involved. Traumatic for you, being there, and how devastating for the owner. We all know that there's a statistical risk with any GA but this really brings it home doesn't it? Poor dog and so young too. |

How awful for you & your collegues & of course the owner. Hope you are all feeling a little better today. You did everything you could for her, please don't beat yourself up about it. |

Hope you're feeling a bit better today Amber; it must have been a terrible shock for you. Dinah's litter sister died under anaesthesia and I was very apprehensive about her being spayed. My vet was fantastic, gave her an extra thorough pre-op check and obviously took her first on the list. I felt as if I had just got home from dropping her off when he phoned to say it's done, she's back in the cage and awake. Don't dwell on it - lots of other animals are depending on your expertise for their good health. As for the poor owner - wonder if there might be an opportune time to tell her about the work of the Cinnamon Trust. All those dogs and cats who've lost their human owner would love a quiet home with her. What a shame - aren't we lucky to have our pets well? |

How very sad, Amber, for all of you. I feel for the pet owner terribly. We do all know of the risks, but assume that routine ops will go smoothly. We should never take that for granted. Lots of hugs to you. Play hard at the Bridge sweet dog |
