Re: korky my little ex-feral

That's what we have to do with them is catch them then raise the kittens (with their mom) handling / socialising as best we can - we neuter mom & put her back to be ferral - the first one I had, she was a beautiful silver tabby (I mean really silver & so pretty) I didn't know how I'd feel about her going back - wasn't sure if we were doing right. Do you know what? When I released her out of that trap she looked back at me & smiled - I think she was saying - "thankyou. I'm happy now" and then I felt great. Someone was feeding those lot & there really was a little colony - but we trapped & neutered them all - so at least now they can't keep reproducing.

I was going to take a kitten at one time but was advised not too as they had been ferral for years and years. Started with a "nice" person dumping a cat they thought. They all hung about the kitchens at night.

Eden Rescue somehow manage to 'tame' them, but I think they are usually rehomed to farms (neutered of course). There are two at the academy at the moment who are a little nervous, but are slowly getting used to us all (although we don't handle them). I'll be interested to see if they are 'tame' in time....

[edited to add, that I've just looked at the piccie again and the other black cat is actually a toy! - someone could have said... not all of us have great eyes you know..lol]]
