Re: How do you keep fit?

I dont do any formal exercise, but do walk the dogs for 1 hr 45 ish mins per day. I dont think of myself as fit, but when friends come to visit (those who dont have dogs) and we do my usual walk, they are pooped and huffing and puffing, so maybe I am fitter than I think!
I would love to do yoga, but I find it hard to join a club or do anything regularly because of shift work!

Re: How do you keep fit?

The only real exercise I have is doing the housework and gardening. I keep my weight down by low carbing, which has worked really well for me. I am about 5'7" tall and wear a size 8/10 clothing

I use to go to the gym 5 days a week and was quite fit, but then we moved out of town and I don't have the time to go to the gym, run the car club and do my art, so something had to give. I do have an exercise bike and also a ski walker which I dust off and use every now and again

Re: How do you keep fit?

That is good Mags, I lost a similar about around 2 stone I believe, but it was my clothing I was more concerned with, I was a size 12 but even they were starting to get a bit tight, and I stumbled across a low carb forum joined up and never looked back. I am much happier now that I am a size 10, if the weight starts to creep up I now know how to control it.

Re: How do you keep fit?

Healthy low carbing is just cutting out a lot of white foods, rice, flour, sugar, pastry etc

So you basically have meals which consists of non starchy vegetables, for example green beans, cauliflower, cabbage, mushrooms, salads, etc and having protein, beef, chicken, fish, you can also have cheese and cream.

So for me a typical days food might be

breakfast - Bacon and eggs or an omelette
lunch - chicken salad
evening meal - fish, cheese sauce (homemade with no flour in it) and vegetables.

Once you start losing weight you can then start adding back in fruits.

It is just really basic eating without any processed rubbish.
