Re: my rottweiler (non cat)

It has been over 2 years ago now. But was very hard for me to accept at the time. He was lame very suddenly with a nasty swelling, I just knew what it was, he was booked in for x-ray & that confirmed my thoughts.

What a super dog he was. That type of cancer is very common in Rotties, I have seen a few at work over the years, there is nothing that can be done and it seems so unfair when you have a fit dog, then they go downhill so quickly.
Dawn.

I knew in my heart as soon as I saw how rapidly the swelling grew that it was osteosacrcoma & decided that if the x-ray confirmed it, I would not bring him round from the anasthetic. I couldn't see him suffer after 9 years of being a healthy & fit boy. His loss of condition in a few day was unbelievable. So I said goodbye before he went in & I had made my decision clear, they phoned me to confirm it & through the floods of tears, I said "let him go"

I had a Bullmastiff with it too & she was only 3 years old.
