these electronic tags are little yellow things that you somewhere programme your detials into and it kinda flashes them up in LED. well, theyre not so little. I think theyre quite big even for a dog, so no way i would put them on a cat. I put collars and tags on my two outdoor boys cos somebody was feeding them, and kept taking them in her house saying they were her cats as she "found them wandering around". (hence the microchipping too). It seems to be working cos theyre both loosing a bit of weight. And i agree it saves a lot of faffing about if anybody finds them. the chipping is jsut in case they loose thier collars or somebody like a vet or rescue finds them. well if anybody is near wood green (godmanchester) you can email the college of naimal welfare there and they will microchip ANY pets for free. I'm not sure if other colleges do it, but it may be worth looking into if you can find a vetenary collegenear you. It means traineee vets do it, but theyre overlooked by a fully trained vet. When we went my brother and SIL took thier 4 cas too, and the people doing the chipping were so lovely. But be prepared to go into a room full of people. I was expecting it to be one on one like at a vets, but there was this big classroom full of about ten people. well worth it though |

Aww what a lovely tag. I bet Oscar really suits it. I don't put collars on my cats as they are Persians and it spoils the coat but mine are microchipped with this chip that tells their temperature as well, musch better for the cat. |
