Give me half an hour and I'll knock something up you can use through your browser (but no Java, I loathe Java having to work with Java applications on occasion ). |

http://www.snoof.co.uk/cpchat/irc.cgi A short explanation (as well as information for people who know how to use IRC and want to use a client to connect) at http://www.snoof.co.uk/cpchat/ The CGI interface (first link) doesn't require you to download anything and will work from your browser. Just fill out the username you want in the "Nickname" field and click connect, and you'll be connected to the server and in the channel (a channel is a chatroom on IRC) in no time. The only way you can get a virus via IRC is by accepting file transfers with viruses in them - so unless you know who's sending you something and exactly what they're sending you, don't accept and it'll all be fine. I'm not 100% sure you can even get file transfers via the CGI interface. Hope to see you all there Edit: Ok, that didn't quite take half an hour |
