Re: & Now a speeding ticket....

Hmmm - I think they're within their rights to hide here and it seems that this was a bit of an unfair trap. Unfortunately. I also think the discrepancies on the ticket mean that it's suspect and can be questioned.

CJ - whilst I agree with your thoughts it is really, really difficult; especially when driving on business, to always keep to the speed limit. I used to do up to 1,000 miles per week when 'on the road' at B&O, and you quickly become oblivious to speed limits. Not proud of this by any means, but it's a fact of life and something I work very hard not to do now (not always successfully ).

Also - as long as you're not speeding excessively, fast driving does not necessarily mean dangerous driving. I have seen a road fatality and several rather nasty car-to-person impacts where cars were will within a 30mph limit.

Chin up Smudgely - I'm sure next week will be better!!

Re: & Now a speeding ticket....

CJ - I understand what you are saying & I'm sorry about your accident, but I feel that there is a difference between speeding & dangerous / careless driving. I passed my test at 17 - been driving ever since (I'm 32) & drive about 35,000miles per year. I think I'm a careful & thoughtful driver & I have never been involved in an accident of any kind (touch wood) Not making excuses, but just stating the facts & I wasn't speeding in a built up area / near houses - it was approaching the country on a clear open road & round a corner is where they were hiding.

Yola - I agree entirely - I think it's almost impossible to stay within the speed limits all of the time.

Guess I'll just have to pay up the £60 & take the points on the chin
