Yes, but in a tank that small (for that number/size of snails) the space is not enough. There will be more snail waste per capita, which could make them ill or even kill them.

Re: Snails

Er... if those adults are 6" shell length then that tank is 2foot long. If they are 3" then that tank is not much more than 1.5foot long.

Max recommendations for a tank of that size is 3 adults - i can count six plus babies in there.

Six 6" snails should have over four foot tank length.

Thats not even considering the fact that there appear to be babies as well in that tank, not just adults.

Indeed.
Cerion none of the other members are dismissing your knowledge of your pets-they are merely offering their advice and opinions-as is the way, and point of/to Forums like CP

Re: Snails

Oooh.... well if you choose to see it like that...

I dont believe for a second that you 'know nothing', im sure you do indeed know far far more about GALS than most of us do.

But its a bit of a stretch of the imagination that you DONT know how much room your snails need given the fact you are a mod on the very forum i found the information regarding tank size/space requirements of your snails from...

Frequently, people kid themselves that they are providing the best for their pets and it IS easy to do, but if everyone else sits around and just says 'yeah well, thats fine', WHO suffers in the end..... ah yes, teh animals.

Your reaction simply proves that you DO know you arent keeping those snails in the best way possible... why not simply accept you are wrong and change it, instead of chucking your toys out of the pram and leaving....

Re: Snails

you would be reffering to petsnails i do beleive ?

of which i am no longer a moderator and i have nothign to do with them as i beleive they are a useless board

these snaisl ahve been kept as such for 3 years and i have worked in 4 different zoos and have contat with soem fo the leading entomologists and herpetologists i nthe country.

and that tank is of adequate size foir them.

it has been enogu hto keep them health yand allow them to breed for 3 years, somethign msot peopel cant acheive with their margies.

so i msut be doing somethign right.

i love the fact you can quote somethign off a website and beleive it is fact.

that si one method of husbandry.

i challenege you to find anyone who keeps margies or tigers in anythign bigger.
