Re: Clementine had a run in with a bengal this evening...

Oh heck
Hope they have now worked out hierarchies and there will be no more scraps. Also hope the bengal doesn't throw its weight around with your dogs.

Surprised your dog didn't step in Holly would have gone mental. There are very many Bengals in rescues and when I posed the question of why? the reply was that they can be aggressive.

I'm surprised any cat would venture into a strange garden with dogs in it Let alone "attack" another cat. Very strange.
Any animal can be aggressive. I dont think it just goes for a particular breed of cat, I have known some horrid specific breeds.

Re: Clementine had a run in with a bengal this evening...

A lot of Bengals end up in rescue centres, due to aggression or marking problems.

The domestic Bengal should be at least four generations removed from it's wild ancestors, to be considered a true pet Bengal. The F1, F2 or F3 generation Bengals, are considered foundation stock and may not always be suitable for keeping as pets, as they're not always entirely domesticated.

If anyone is interested in reading up about Bengals, a good site is http://www.bengals.freeuk.com/home.html

Thanks for that link; I know nothing about bengals & was going to Google them later. Just glad Clementine is OK! I learned thr hard way many years ago not to break up a cat fight; got bitten by my own cat and had to go to hospital, bleeding like a stuck pig!!
