From what I know the disease in in the bird rather than its food, Salmonella is passed on through feaces in Birds.

There is treatment for Pigeons but not for wild birds, although I expect its the same stuff. Look at this poor little soul we saw today, I ended his suffering as he was clearly very uncomfortable.

Found another 4 dead today, saw one die in front of me, literally. We looked in its mouth and it was packed of food and gunk, looks like it is this canker.
