Ever see the Mississippi, the Father of Waters? I haven't ( I'm the travel averse one, remember?) but seen pictures of it...unbelievable! Our Potomac isn't too bad, either. The Stour didn't look all that big in the picture, that's why I assumed it was a stream (Contrite, she goes to Google to looik up the Stour...) |

No, I've not seen the Mississippi - it's on the list of places to go before I die. Guess the biggest I've seen in NA would be the St Lawrence. An amazing part in Montreal, where there was actually about a 1' step in water levels as various currents met. And hearing how, in the olden (but not so olden) days, in winter, when the river froze, they would throw rail track over the ice and drive trains over!  We also took the train down from Albany to New York city alongside the Hudson.Did you find the Stour? I think it's big enough to find on google! There is an interesting micro-generation project to restore many of the old mills along the river and produce electricity.
