Re: Totally gutted this evening (following news re Farepak hampers)

I couldn't agree more. At least my children are older and understand, how do you explain to a young child that santa couldn't come this year? My family are coming for Christmas Day and are going to help with the cost of the food. We will get by, we dont have lots of money, but probably still not as bad as some poor people. I am still so angry and will never, ever save this way again.

Re: Totally gutted this evening (following news re Farepak hampers)

Just heard a brief item on the news headlines, saying the British Retail Federation (I think) may try to help people who've been affected. Sorry I didn't hear any more - but there wasn't very much more.
Hope that something can be done. It seems so unfair.
Edit: have found this site. i would think it will update with the latest news

Re: Totally gutted this evening (following news re Farepak hampers)

One other comment on this. I only heard about this yeaterday on the way back from Southport as I hadn't listened to the news all week. I dont save with any of these but I use Provident instead (more expensive I know, but at least you know where you are with them). Anyway, according to the guy I was listening to on the radio, if any of you have paid even one weeks money to Farepack with your credit card, you can claim EVERY single penny you have paid into Farepack over the year back from them. Obviously I dont know if this will help either you or Elaine Kim, but I thought it was worth mentioning (and if you know anyone else who has you can tell them). Hope this helps a little.

Thanx for all the info, will take a closer look at the link tomorrow coz I am knackered now and my brain is a bit fuzzy after several glasses of wine to unwind.

Kim, I just wondered if you have heard any news from your agent about getting some, if not all of your money back?
My agent called and left a message to say she had my money, dont know if she means all of it and cannt bloody get hold of her now to find out.
