Re: Raw feeding...

I've never had a regular raw feeding day, but mine have always gotten raw steak for thir birthdays, and the occasional treat of raw stew beef or chicken ...they love it! Those are great pics!

Re: Raw feeding...

Looks like the raw meat is enjoyed by all!!

Just a bit of a dumb question now...
Do you get 'normal' raw meat from the butchers and give that to the cats, or do you get a 'special type'?

Also, which raw meat would you recommend?

Thanks (& sorry to bombard this thread with questions)

Re: Raw feeding...

I buy mine from a specialist supplier of raw foods for animals. But I buy in bulk so it works out better for me. You can buy from the butcher/supermarket. Mince turkey, chicken, beef are fine. I don't feed pork because of the tapeworm issue. If you do decide to feed beef then make sure you freeze it then defrost it before serving. There is apparantly some bacteria in it that is killed during the freezing process. I prefer to feed chicken/turkey with bone so have whole carcasses ground up. To do this yourself you would need a grinder. You can also feed heart, kidneys, liver, tripe..almost anything that takes their fancy really.
