Not quite but seriously fran, I do know someone who did that... she retired from work a few years ago & said when she retired, she retired! THE END! No more housework, no cleaning, nothing. She's a lovely lady but does nothing at all & is not afraid to say so either, anyway her cooker was so dirty she decided to get a new one.. that's a true story

Re: Oven cleaners

She's one of the nicest people I know, but she spends all day doing "deco.....making stuff, decoparge?" anyway she just makes cards all day, then when her hubby gets home from work he has to cook the tea!

Re: Oven cleaners

I am a bit of a slave to cleaning, but cleaning the oven is just one job I absolutely hate! I have used Mr Muscle, but I hate the way the stuff gets into your throat, arghhh. I bought a spray the other week that was safer and it was quite effective. Will find it in the cupboard and let you know what it is called. I did clean the oven on Christmas Eve as we had all the reli's over!

Re: Oven cleaners

Thanks Kim, I did plan to cleaning the oven before Christmas but only managed to get the sides done.

I have an oven liner (goes on the bottom of the oven) and that saves me loads of work!!

I think I am going to order some oven mate from Lakeland, usually their products are really good. I will report back

I think you will be pleased at the Lakeland cleaner Emma. And I agree the 'bottom liner' is great.

Has anybody used, or considered, one of those 'man with a van' who comes and cleans your oven? Think they cost about £25, which is a lot, but considerably less than a new cooker. I think they use ammonia, which is meant to be great for cleaning grease. I suppose if you take out the cost of Mr Muscle or whatever, rubber gloves, your time and the damage to your lungs some of these products must produce, it's not so bad?

Re: Oven cleaners

Now that would be great, but don't think it'll be happening in my house anytime soon.
