It takes a bit of doing and you might have to wrap a tea towel round the blade bit of the knife so as not to hurt your hands. Kneel on the floor and hold the bottle between your thighs/knees and keep pushing, the cork will go into the bottle eventually I've done it a few times when I've been caught out without a corkscrew You have to be careful as the cork is going into the bottle that the wine doesn't splurt out all over

So does that mean that you then have to drink the whole bottle Fran because you can't get the cork back out?!
