I will post up how you can calculate out the car tax You need list price of car, and CO2 emissions example for working out the car benefit List price of car £12,000, co2 emissions 140g/km, this would give a 15% £12,000 x 15% = £1800 car benefit so if you were a 22% tax payer you would pay tax of £396 pa and if you were a 40% tax payer you would pay tax of £720 pa IF PRIVATE FUEL WAS PROVIDED You would use the car benefit % (i.e. 15% in the example above) and the list price would be £14,400 x 15% = £2160 (deemed list price IN ALL CASES) 22% tax on £2160 would be £475 pa 40% tax on £2160 would be £864 pa This private fuel is IN ADDITION to the car benefit |

% calculator for the CO2 emissions are as follows g/km of Co2 140 15% 165 20% 190 25% 215 30% 240 35% For intervening figures add 1% to list price for each additional 5g/km of Co2, These % are for petrol cars, diesel cars are a bit more expensive. |
