Re: Weston donkeys (for Yola!)

Weston donks! Lovely.
Do you know Weymouth Yola? Can't remember if there are donkeys but it is a gorgeous beach, long long traditional promenade and a traditional Punch & Judy (that's the way to do it!). Also the sand sculpture man and the Condor hydrofoils going to the Channel islands and St Malo. Plus a very pretty harbour with good restaurants

Re: Weston donkeys (for Yola!)

I went to Weymouth once in the late 80s when ex-H worked at Wytch Farm Oil Development, but only for dinner one evening. Closest I've got since then is Swanage I've heard good reports of it and also seen pics on TV - lovely harbour!

If the beach is good we might brave it this year for a weekend, and if they do turn out to have donkeys so mucthe better .

Did you watch Coast last night? From Bournemouth to Plymouth, calling at Weymouth and Lyme Regis, inter alia. It was good (but I'm biased!). Think it's repeated next Saturday at 8.10 BBC2 http://www.bbc.co.uk/coast/programme...plymouth.shtml

Re: Weston donkeys (for Yola!)

Although the tide goes out for what seems like miles , the beach is fabulous for children.....it is flat, plenty of room to play games, no seaweed, rarely a pebble and above all it is very clean (gets cleaned every day). Many people are sent to Weston to convalesce as the air is so good there....

Sounds like I'm working for the Weston Tourist Board doesn't it?!!
